Our Museum is open to the public 8am - 2pm every Sunday
9am - 12pm Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
Steaming Sundays are held on the first Sunday of every month (excluding January).
On a Steaming Sunday all the machines will be brought to life, including the massive mill steam engine in the centre of the shed, and a number of traction engines and steamrollers can be seen trundling around the heritage park.
This event will be held in 2023 on Saturday the 3rd of June from 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM and Sunday the 4th of July from 8.00 AM to 2.00 PM.
The Old Petrie Town Steam Fair is the largest steam-featuring machinery rally in Queensland. Multiple steam vehicles and other unusual and rarely seen machines are brought in for this two day event. Come and see how things used to be done 'back in the day' with demonstrations of historical equipment being put to use as they would have been 100 years ago.
This event will be held on the 1st of October 2023.
Steam It Sunday is an international event organised by the National Traction Engine Trust of England. The aim of this event is to have as many steam powered road vehicles in operation as possible. Our society takes part in this by steaming all the steam powered machines on our premises and drivin them around the heritage park of Old Petrie Town.
This event will be held on the 2nd of December 2022 and on the 1st of December 2023.
Come and see our historic machinery in action at night, as the machinery inside the shed is all fired up, and the steam vehicles are roaming around the park. This is held in conjunction with the Old Petrie Town 'Moonlight Markets'.
